Business Development Manager - North (GTR1696)

Gecko Travel Recruitment are excited to be working with this well-established Tour Operator who are looking for a dynamic Business Development Manager to join their team to look after the North of England.

As Business Development Manager you will develop and maintain relationships with travel agents and travel consortias through regular face-to-face visits, attending trade events and being the eyes and ears of the business. You'll also seek out any new business development opportunities within in your region.

Previous experience in a similar BDM role for a Tour Operator or Airline is essential for this role.

The role:

• Maximise and increase sales revenue in your territory - Northern England, Scotland and Ireland
• Develop and maintain relationships with travel agents and trade partners
• To hold regular commercial meetings with key accounts
• Attending trade events and industry conferences representing the business in a professional manner
• Attending industry networking events
• Exchange ideas with the other Business Development Mangers regarding effective sales techniques
• Working closely with the trade marketing team
• Host and attend industry events and familiarisation trips overseas

You will have:

• Proven experience in a similar BDM role selling to the travel trade
• Previous experience working for a Tour Operator or Airline
• Experience working to set sales targets
• Outstanding commercial acumen
• Excellent organisational and negotiation skills
• A full UK driving license and own your own car
