Gecko Travel Recruitment are delighted to be working with this innovative travel business who are recruiting a Destination Project Manager to join their team on a permanent basis.
As Destination Project Manager you will be responsible for all aspects of Destination Management, MICE, and specialised business operations within your assigned area/region. This includes marketing, promotion, sales activities, and product development, while serving as the destination expert and strategic advisor.
This role is based in Budapest, Hungary.
The role:
- Responsible for executing business operations in alignment with the destination market strategy, established workflows, guiding principles, procedures, and training guidelines
- Ensure all business activities adhere to financial regulations, industry compliance standards, legal requirements, and the organisation's ethical guidelines.
- Review itineraries and quoted services to ensure feasibility, providing recommendations where needed to optimise profitability and enhance margin contribution
- Be present on-site and available during key event days
- Overseeing the planning, budgeting, development, organisation, and successful execution of the project
- Developing and continuously enhancing the destination marketing toolkit, providing essential resources, key selling points, and strategic tools for both end clients and the Sales team
You will have:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Tourism, Event Management, or within a DMC
- Fluent English and Hungarian both verbal and written
- Proficiency in MS Office programs, with a strong focus on Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Strong ability to identify and resolve issues proactively, with effective problem-solving skills
- Outstanding ability to communicate, collaborate, negotiate, and influence decision-makers at all levels, both internally and externally
- Excellent geographic knowledge of Hungary
